Spring Practice For The Hammond Skyhawks : Hammond is shooting for its sixth consecutive state championship
Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- The Hammond Skyhawks have already accomplished a feat that no other high school team in the Palmetto State has ever done - win five consecutive state championships.
The Skyhawks have been holding spring practice with the emphasis on improvement for this year and not looking back at past titles.
Head coach Erik Kimrey says his philosophy is to help each develop its own identity with the goal of winning a title, but with each squad is a different personality.
However, the previous five teams have something in common - they sent the seniors out on top, something the class of 2012 hopes to duplicate.
